This activity has been planned and implemented
in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Ohio State
Medical Association (OSMA) through the joint sponsorship of The
MetroHealth System and the Ohio Chapter of the American College of
Cardiology. The MetroHealth
System is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association to provide
continuing medical education for physicians.

Objectives

- Interpret recent political developments
and describe how cardiologists can best interact with their political
representatives.
- Describe the natural history of
pulmonary hypertension.
- List current therapies available for the
treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
- Outline several kinds of congenital
heart disease that are frequently encountered by adult cardiologists.
- Describe key points for the successful
management of adults with congenital heart disease.
- Review the cardiovascular risks of
participation in sports.
- List key components of the
cardiovascular evaluation of young athletes.
