Poster Session for ALL Ohio Cardiology Fellows-in-Training:
Print Abstract Form for Submission
You
are invited to present your research (past or present) during the
poster session, scheduled for Saturday, October 16th, from 9:45-10:15 a.m. Eligible posters may present recent data, case study or
information that has been presented previously at a local or national
meeting. A modest cash prize of $500 will be awarded to both first and
second place winners in the fellow poster session. Abstracts
should be submitted via e-mail as an attachment to ohioacc@gmail.com
by September 17th.
NOTE: All fellows MUST also register for the
meeting!
For
those fellows residing outside of the Akron/Cleveland area, one night’s hotel room and tax will be
reimbursed. Call 216.623.1300 for the Ohio-ACC room rate of $169.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
PREPARATIONS

Type abstract in the 6" x 4 ¾" rectangle box on
the abstract form. The size of type should be no smaller than 10 pt. type.

Title and Authors. The title should be brief, clearly
indicating the nature of the study. CAPITALIZE THE ENTIRE TITLE. State all authors
initials and last names followed by their institutional affiliations, city, and state.
UNDERLINE PRESENTING AUTHOR only. Do not include street address and zip code. INDENT FIRST
LINE OF TEXT at least three spaces.

Content. Organize the body of abstract to include a) purpose of
study (preferably one sentence); b) methods used; c) a summary of results in sufficient
detail to support the conclusions; and d) conclusions reached - it is not satisfactory to
state "results will be discussed" or "other data will be presented."

Abbreviations. Abbreviations should conform to the Style Manual
for Biological Journals (American Institute of Biological Sciences, 3900 Wisconsin Ave.,
Washington, DC 20016). Avoid abbreviations in the abstract title. Place non-standard
abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
Abstract Details
To prepare your abstract for the poster presentation, please note
that you will have available to you a 4x6 velcro board to which to adhere your
presentation material. You may want to bring velcro strips to affix your material.
The poster session will take place from 9:45-10:15 a.m. on Saturday,
October 16th. Judges will view the posters at this time, so please stand by your
posters to answer questions.
